Ignoring negative/evil people/things under the pseudo mantra of "being positive" is not only a sign of weakness but it allows negativity/evil to continue and proliferate unimpeded.

"Thinking positive" was not initially meant to be considered as the opposite sense of negative, but in the sense of affirmation.
